Guru Maya
Here’s a Cliff Notes definition of Maya, a word from India. Maya is defined as the illusory world, a dream world if you will - This world is a dream world that you can wake up from. This leads to how manifestation happens, like how the world we see and how our seeing comes to be. Getting this is difficult and it's not necessary to get all deep about it now. What should be known, that most agree with, is there are powers that affect reality. Serendipity, destiny, karma and a host of words speak to what we’re talking about in Maya, unseen powers. Guru Maya speaks to unique qualities the Guru possesses that add an additional influence to all this coming and going of the “me’s” and “you’s” and “us’s” and “them’s” in this topsy-turvy world. This comes under the heading of Sphere of Influence. Adi Da’s Sphere has no center in time and space. His influence reaches far along every avenue leading through every nook and cranny of existence.
I felt this influence straight off the bat when I first met the woman who introduced me to this way. This influence energized core issues of what this life has been about. The main one is the Boy-Girl issue. The tempests of Love and Sex, Money, and everything else under the sunlight of self are what is relevant to real Spiritual Life. Relevance of all and All is what Adi Da is about.
Things that I can only call miracles happen around Him all the time. I speak as if He is still around because He is and He’s all around to boot. Get to know Him and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I’d be doing a chore. There would be someone that I needed to speak to about it, someone that I hadn’t seen in weeks. Walk around the corner and there they were! Things like this happen all the time.
When we look at The Physics of it', the struck tuning fork is Adi Da transmitting. We experience this transmission as an energy of Love, Bliss and Understanding and what it brings up. What it brings up is our stuff that keeps us from experiencing enlightenment. What we do with this, how we deal with it is the work we must do. This is called Sadhana. It is what we must do to free attention and energy to practice.
